The house at 336 Fillmore St. is an authentic rehabilitation of the original Queen Anne Victorian built in 1900 for the town physician, Dr. Jacob C. House. It was rebuilt in order to capture the flavor and feeling of the original interior while gracefully preserving the exterior as originally built. It is 4,500 total square feet with water views of Port Townsend Bay and located within a few blocks of both downtown and uptown.
The lower level consists of one guest bedroom with ensuite full bath and a private entrance plus an additional guest bedroom with a full bath and steam shower and a large laundry room with a Bosch washer and dryer, utility room and a guest living room.
The main floor has a formal dining area and parlor with eleven foot ceilings, a library with oak bookcases and a Rumford fireplace. A full bath with claw foot tub is adjacent to the office/study. The refinished old growth Douglas Fir flooring leads to an elegant curved oak staircase. The kitchen has a prep sink plus the primary farmhouse sink, granite countertops, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Wolf range, convection, standard and warming ovens over slate floors. The back door opens into a large mudroom.
The upper floor has a large master suite with a jetted tub and steam shower, his and her dressing rooms, two window seats with fabulous water views and includes an abundance of drawer and closet space.
Additional features include stained glass salvaged from the Los Angeles Cathedral, an alarm system and extensive, mature landscaping.
General features include new insulation brought to current standards, radiant in-floor heating, provisions for a future geothermal heating system, 5.8kw PV solar array and data and media systems.
The house has been updated to current seismic standards, including a new foundation, thick fir doors, high-end hardware and fixtures, radiant heat, restored silver-plated vintage light fixtures, custom-milled trim and two free-standing original garages.
Rehabilitation cost over $2.5 million.
